Ubuntu 14.10

Greetings,
I am currently using Ubuntu 14.10. I have downloaded Kerkythea and placed it in /usr/bin. The system appears to work as I expected. However:

1. The basic pack of materials is not appearing in the menu "Apply Materials".
2. When I try to install a library I get the error message "Could not import archive library".
3. When I go to "<Settings><Materials> and do an <open><Import> I get the message "Library already exists! If this is a different library, rename it first with a non-existing name."
4. When I click on the Library Selection button on the right side of the screen the application freezes. At that point if I minimize the application and then maximize it there is a chance I get control of the program back.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Warm Regards,

Roger'
