we have a networked server already. could i install KT on the machines i want to slave, and following the instructions, save the scene from my main machine to the network, open the same file on each of the slave machines?

yes, when saving, set it to save the scene+materials. ;)
also be sure to save it in .kzx format - it's a lot smaller and opens faster/saves faster over networks.

Have you tested this with a simple scene? There are some examples Kerkythea Rendering System\Examples

network render question

So... Finally got my network to render using several machines and liberal use of remote login.

My question is:

When I have my machines listed in the server network log and there is the number of commits and percentage contribution is that a real-time reflection of work being done? I have two identical 2 thread machines and a quad core working together and the quad core is listed as 50% contribution and the others at 25%. It seems like this would mean that the quad core is doing roughly 50% of the work which makes sense. So is the image on my server machine an example of the three machines work, or just what that machine has done by itself? I am trying to figure out when I should stop my rendering.. so will my image clear up more when i stop one of the clients or is it updating real-time meaning that the preview i see on my server is an aproximate reflection of what i will have if i stop my rendering.

Sorry this is confusing, I can clear up my question if no one understands.
