UV Mapping Coordinates

Hi everyone.
Im using this texture bitmp to test the mapping coordinates on a sphere on Kerkythea 2008:

Using the default settings produces unwanted results, that have to be corrected modifying the "Y scale" and in Cylindrical case "Y offset" too:

It would be nice not to have to modify the default settings to map that way (...maybe is a bug).

The Cubic mode needs far more complicated values too:
Offset X: .045
Offset Y: 0.48
Scale X: 0.5
Scale Y: -0.5
On the top face, but scrambles the other sides...

The tests are with an imported sphere but without any maping to test Kerky. I think this going to be more like bug report :), becouse the maping system is something that can be improved.

I recomend too, to utilize the modeling program to map, (and not to open the bitmap coordinates window for the moment, becouse any modification there can scramble the mapping)*.
*Edited: I correct here, you can scale and rotate and the program will respect the imported UV mapping. You can experiment with the mappings and return to the imported UV mapping.

Besides that, for the wish list, an "Apply" button on that window would be verey usefull.

P.S. (The results on the spherical and cylindrical mapings are almost the same, a little deformation next to the poles on a spherical mapping is expected) :)

So you're talking about the spherical / cubic / etc projections? I suppose if they are off, that's something giannis might look at. If you have a test scene to demonstrate, I'm sure that would be helpful if you uploaded it here.

It is kind of funny that the bitmap dialog doesn't have an apply button. :) But it does "auto-apply" so once you get used to that, it's ok.

if people want to experiment a little.

The Auto-apply is nice, maybe an auto-apply check box and an Apply button if not checked :).

I dont know if it is just me, but after changing a value I always click on another field to make sure the program is not waiting for another number, so, in stead of clicking another field... silly, I know :).
