Hi
I would like to share with you, a method that I use to apply shades of paints available for actual construction, to the exterior and interior of buildings, while modelling in SU. For this, first we have to install a small free application which we need to pick any color from a webpage. This application can be obtained from:
http://eye-dropper.kepi.cz/
After installing it we go to a webpage which shows the color chart.
Now we start the eye-dropper application and point the mouse over the required color.
At the bottom right corner we see two types of information. One is a number, like '#5f5b42' and the other is the red, blue and green components of the required color, like 'rgb(95,91,66)'. Both these information gives the same color in any photo editing program like Gimp or PS. In sketchup, we can alter the rgb components of an applied color by editing it and giving our obtained values. This can be done in KT too, in the 'Material editor'.
Please let me know if this method gives satisfactory results.
