Hi.

I recently started using KT and to be honest I suck at it. I am an interior designer and have a client presentation on Friday and really want to get an answer asap.

I have put some tiling textures into a swimming pool space. It looks fine in SU but when I put it in KT it doesn't appear.

I wonder if it could be a scale issue? or even some settings I'm not doing right. or the front/back facing issue..

I have attached some screen shots and would be pleased if anyone would have a look at it for me. Thanks. Arna.

If looking the scene in SU with monochromatic view, then back-faces are easy to spot from blue colour. Reverse faces and re-texture on front-side.

Thank you.

If import the model would you be able to take a look at it?
If you use an image to make a repeating texture do you have to have something in mind? because it seems like it shows up in KT but is oversized. Looks like 3 huge tiles instead of many as it appears in SU.

Thanks! a

your tiles look already huge in SU! If it is intended to look realistic you will jave to change the size.
I'm not sure, but I think the dimensions here are something like 30x30 cms Anyway, when exporting you must export UV as well:
default UV -> NO

You can also change it in KT but not too accurate, in tools/bitmap coordinates. The larger the number the smaller the texture will show.

Download and install SU2KT Version 3.16. Some earlier versions enlarged SketchUp textures placed on back surfaces.

In any case, it seems that you have placed the tile texture on a back surface, which can cause rendering problems. Reverse the surface by right-clicking on it in SketchUp and selecting "Reverse Faces" from the context menu - then reapply the tile texture.

The tiles in SketchUp do seem quite large. You can adjust the scale by right-clicking on the texture and selecting Texture-Position from the context menu. - then using the green pin to resize.

You can also change the size (in inches, feet, etc.) in the SU Materials palette.
