I was working a couple of dirty, weather-beaten metal textures and decided to post them in case any one else was interested. Obviously these could [and should] be improved, but this is where they're at so far.
They'll have to be re-sized and mapped [cubic/sphere/etc] but that's standard fair.

...and the last one along with the zip.
Enjoy, and please comment. I'd love to hear what's wrong with them so I can improve at creating textures.

Thank you SO much! I've been looking around for some good high quality worn metal textures like these. You're very generous, thanks again!

Hi dsarchs
very nice Metals you have created .... are the maps also your creation ?
i had a look at your settings and right now i suggest to sett the specular attenuation to "non" or to "Fresnel" and if you use Fresnel , then you have to set an IOR between 10.00 and 20.00 . I personally never use the cosine attenuation ( at the moment i did not find any material i could use it for ) because normally Fresnel is the correct attenuation for most Materials and in the case of Metals when using a Bitmap, you can use "non" for attenuation .
This would be a basic "correction" but there are more things you can do if you are looking for a bit more accurate Material setup ....... but for this you will need to read the Material Editor Guide ( i received the spelling correction for the Material Editor Guide from Fletch .... so it will not take too long to be released )
keep up the good work
Greetings Patrick

dsarchs,
you can share my campfire any time, my friend. these are looking great... I'm sure Patricks can always help us improve our KT mats, and you will love his guide.
Thanks so much for sharing all this hard work! I'm working right now on getting some much higher quality treeline skies globals put together.
