I am really appreciating some of the advantages to this new beta, especially the Default UV's but am also having a repeatable problem. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
Even if I run just a simple cube test model in SU, the file size is larger than 456K so I can't attach. Even the zip file is larger than the original file. How is this possible?
But anyway, I export to KT, click Yes to open, run a Photon Map Quick render, everything is fine. I save the scene, close, save the SU scene, close. Re-open KT, re-open the scene, and now there is a clip map as part of the only material in the file identical to the Diffuse map making the cube of course now almost invisible in render. This clip map is not present when the file opens straight out of SU.
I can of course just remove the clip map, but I have saved fixed scenes, only to re-open later and find the clip maps back again.
Anyone else? Any ideas?
Thanks, even with this issue the new beta is really opening things up for me.

Hi,
We are aware of this bug...
You can find another post in the clip maps applied to materials automatically after opening thread...
Tomasz (the creator of the SU2KT plug-in) is looking into this issue and will hopefully soon come back with a solution...

First of all, thanks a lot for the component to instances function, this is saving me countless hours of figuring out how to render my facade of +/- 1500 car windows
Than over to the problems.. I've read through the thread and I think it was mentioned before, but I am not sure if it is in the same matter as I am experiencing.
When I exported my model (instances on, clay model) in KT it did not show the model (not even after pressing V). It DOES render it though, so there is no real problem, but it is easier assigning materials when you see what you select (clicking ALT when selecting did not help me, or it might have been out of my view, but I tried several so I guess not).
What is the logic behind the list of instances that is created? I am willing to model in such a way that it gets exported in a way I can easily materialize it.
Hope to year from you soon, keep up the good work!!

Good point What I would suggest you for now it is :
- select all car windows and export then with instancing
- export the rest of the model without instancing
- merge them together in KT
What I could do is to allow instancing just for 'marked' components and as it is right now - for the whole model, An user could decide. It would make the whole model more 'clear' in KT viewer.

I have never tried to merge models before, might be worth to try out not something that is in the front of my mind when solving problems.. thanks
