When installing a material library fails using Windows 7, or when you try to save a material library and you get an error message that the library can not be saved:
This is likely a problem with permissions - Kerkythea, when running under your user account, does not have permission to change anything in the Kerkythea program folder... such as creating a material library.
It is not too difficult to give the permissions - you don't give permission to Kerkythea, but you give permission to the User Account on the machine.
Right-click the Kerkythea Program folder (probably found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Kerkythea Rendering System) and choose "Properties" then follow the steps listed here but you probably need to do this for your User Account, not for the Administrator account:

Use google to search for your computer system if you are using Vista or Windows 8 or 10 or other.
I'm attaching a pdf print here for posterity.

Re: Install or Save a Material Library Fails: Permissions
Giving permissions to User does not work, neither does giving Admin full permissions. Libraries will not install with the latest version, period. There is something wrong with the install where the Materials library does not get installed in the Program Files folder with Win 10, it gets installed in the ProgramData folder instead. Obviously when you released this version someone did not fully bench test the install program with Win 10.
Re: Install or Save a Material Library Fails: Permissions
I solved the problem of materials by copying folders from KT 2008 to KT 2018. The material libraries installing normally now (at least with win 7 x64). But I still have a problem with installing globals. And you are right, KT have not testing at the proper level. It is quite raw.
Re: Install or Save a Material Library Fails: Permissions
After messing with this, for the last hour, changing permissions etc. I still cannot install a material library, mat.zip, zip or otherwise. I created a material library folder, and put the files in that folder, but apparently I am still missing something. Win 10 ](./images/smilies/kt_wall.gif)

Re: Install or Save a Material Library Fails: Permissions
I managed to get this to work, and now I have imported the materials into SU, but I haven't figured out how to use them yet, on a model, they do not show up in the SU materials tray, what do I need to do now? While i am going on about this, why the heck is it such a complex process to get things working? I think teh KT developers need to figure this out BEFORE offering up the KT system, for download and installation on Windows 10 machines.
